Dutch breeding bird monitoring data available through GBIF

Project type:
Data project
Duration:
01 / 11 / 2014 to 01 / 02 / 2015

Sovon, Dutch Centre for Field Ornithology, has been founded to systematically assemble bird data at a national level to support research, decision support and nature management. The monitoring of breeding bird populations is one of the core tasks of Sovon.

The Breeding Bird Monitoring Project (BMP) fulfills a central position in Sovon's monitoring activities. Within this project, started in 1984, professionals and volunteers work together to aggregate standardised data on breeding birds. With the help of NLBIF Sovon will establish its own GBIF Integrated Publishing Toolkit (IPT) and through this IPT installation Sovon will provide access to a public version of the BMP data for both national as well as International users.
