Data management advice and data publication in het NWO Research Programme Biodiversity Works

Project type:
Infrastructure project
Duration:
01 / 06 / 2010 to 01 / 09 / 2016

The Research Programme Biodiversity Works, funded by the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO), involves stakeholders in scientific research into the protection of Dutch wildlife.

Interactions between flora, fauna and microorganisms but also climate change, spatial scarcity and the arrival of exotic species are all factors that influence ecosystems and services that nature provides us with. A better understanding of these factors will contribute to a balanced nature conservation policy and well-considered investments to protect vital ecosystems. The Research Programme Biodiversity Works has emerged from the like-named policy programme that was signed by several Dutch ministries.

NLBIF is involved in the programme as an advisory body concerning data management and will publish those data(sets) that are suitable for publication through GBIF.
