2018 GBIF Young Researchers Award

02 / 01 / 2018, GBIF

GBIF is inviting proposals for the 2018 Young Researchers Award, with the focus on the use of data available in the GBIF facility. At the moment more than 900 million records are available for research opportunities.

The GBIF Young Researchers Award is an annual programme aimed at fostering innovative research and discovery in biodiversity informatics by graduate students whose master’s and doctoral studies rely on GBIF-mediated data. Working closely with GBIF national participants, the 2017 awards will provide €5,000 prizes available for proposals of two graduate students—preferably one a master’s candidate and one a PhD candidate—nominated by GBIF Participant countries.

The Dutch node of GBIF, stichting NLBIF, calls for research proposals with a maximum of five pages text to be sent to before June 1st, 2018. For more information you can contact us at this address.

NLBIF will forward eligible proposals to the Dutch Head of Delegation: ms Daniëlle van Bentem, Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. From these candidates two nominees will be selected.
