Mobilisation data Working Group International Waterbird and Wetland Research (WIWO)
The Working Group International Waterbird and Wetland Research (WIWO) stimulates, initiates and carries out scientific research on waterfowl and wetlands, especially for conservation purposes.
WIWO was established in 1983 in The Netherlands. For more than 30 years, field studies were organised in Europe, Africa and Asia, with a focus on countries along the Eastern Atlantic and Mediterranean itineraries. Over 80 projects were established with the results published in reports and scientific articles. Data concern species checklists, bird counts, ringing data as well as biometric data. In cooperation with NLBIF, data from several WIWO reports will be mobilised and published through GBIF.
