Publication CGN genebank data 'Indigenous Trees and Shrubs'

Project type:
Data project
01 / 10 / 2014 to 01 / 11 / 2014

The Centre for Genetic Resources, The Netherlands (CGN) focuses on the conservation and use of vegetable crops, rare farm animal breeds and autochthonous forest species.

As a resource for the sustainable maintenance and management of Dutch indigenous species and breeds the CGN accommodates several (living) collections such as seed banks, animal gene bank collections and a gene bank of indigenous trees and shrubs.

The CGN is already a major Dutch GBIF data provider sharing its PGR passport data with the rest of the world trough GBIF. In this project, the CGN and NLBIF cooperate to provide the international community also access to the gene bank data on Indigenous Dutch Trees and Shrubs. The existing gene bank database will be linked to GBIF through the Integrated Publishing Toolkit (IPT) of the CGN.
